Hotels
& Lodging
Many different styles
of accommodation are available in Millstone-Derry, from the Spartan to
the luxurious, depending on your taste and choice of adventure
package. Each facility is self-contained, secure and
sanitary. From boarding houses to Imperial Suites, you’ll find
just what your looking for…but keep in mind, where you sleep is just a
small part of your entire resort experience. You didn’t come 100
years into the past just to sleep, did you?
Grand
Imperial
Millstone
Derry’s finest hotel, suited for visiting dignitaries, gentlemen and
royalty. This 25-room hotel comes with room service, daily maid
service, servants and a concierge assigned to prepare and facilitate
your every need. Each suite is three rooms and a balcony
overlooking the town and a modern bath with Jacuzzi. On the
first floor you’ll find The Moon and
Sixpence, the preferred tavern of Millstone Derry’s elite.
You need an invitation or a Passport to enter M&S and admission to
the Smoking Room is strictly
by sponsorship only. Hadrian’s
Restaurant is also located conveniently nearby for fine dining
and live classical entertainment.
The Grand
Imperial also offers King Size rooms on its lower levels for aides,
valets or for those who want to experience luxury but not spend the
King’s treasury for it.
Crystal
Palace
A place for
high-rollers without the upper-crust pretensions, the Crystal Palace
offers the same luxury as the Grand Imperial, but none of the
prestigious clientele. In fact, the Crystal suffers (or thrives)
from a less-than polished reputation as a place for international spies
and miscreants, travelers and gamblers. Its 5 suites feature
modern baths, and 10 standard rooms (with private or shared baths)
offer comparable comfort and amenities to the Grand, but you’ll find
the staff has a lot more…personality. In the lobby you’ll find a
barber shop, concierge service (but no personal asistants), and a
tavern that provides room service until midnight. The Grinning Simian pub is a 19th
century version of a modern sports bar. Here working class men
gather and compete in bar games, drinking and other barstool
activities. Here, the modern version of billiards has taken hold
and you’ll find a shark or two trolling the waters.
The
Horseman
A free-standing
Victorian Mansion serves as the shell of this quaint, intimate hotel
with only 5 rooms, but each is tended to by a small, dedicated staff
that understands a guest’s need for security, comfort and - above all -
privacy. Breakfast and Dinner are served here buffet style and
the house chef (and owner) is one of the village’s most reputable
chefs. Each room at The Horseman has a private shower and toilet,
ceiling fan, down feather bed and a library of books and curiosities
commemorating the rich history of the estate. "The Horseman" is
named for the legendary dragoon commander Horace Neighly, who single-handedly
defended town from a horde of mounted marauders. His family
history lends itself to a great mystery - one you will have to
experience for yourself.
Main Street
Hotel
A standard, centrally located motel, the 19th century incarnation of a
Motel 6. 20 simple rooms, clean, secure and close to the
action. There is limited room service, but there are half a dozen
places to eat, shop and explore within walking distance and the bell
and front desk staff are friendly and willing to arrange activities for
you. Being on Main Street places you close to any and all village
activities as well as the main route of all intra-city carriages and
buggies.
Hattie
Mack’s Boarding House
Located on the
edge of the northern private neighborhoods lives one of Millstone
Derry’s more prominent and outspoken citizens, Hattie Mack. Her
ideas of women’s rights and equality for all living creatures is ahead
of its time. She takes no back seat to men, nor will she demure
from intellectual conversation. Neighbors say she takes in guests
for the purpose of gathering information about the future…and to have
fresh meat for her debates on the right to vote, railway disruption of
the environment and the growing American imperialist
agenda. Those who choose to stay with Hattie find
themselves in the center of the village’s most active nightlife and
enjoying some of the finest dinners in town, cooked by Hattie and her
six daughters. We recommend you don’t ask her why she isn’t
married unless you want to start a rumble at the supper table.
The
Hunting Lodge
Some guests have
come to Millstone to enjoy the peace and quiet of the outdoors. A
simple cabin in the woods is available for those who wish to spend time
in the company of the animals. The Lord of Derry rents these
cottages to guests. He owns each of four cabins and keeps them
available for his own use (just what he needs with 4 different
locations is up to you to decide). Therefore, guests will find
many of the Lord’s personal effects stored and displayed in the
cottage. Each cottage comes with running water, a spigot for
showering and an outhouse. The Lord’s Private Hunting Cabin may
be available and comes with a flushing toilet and more "civilized"
amenities. As the Lord of Derry likes to keep the location of his
cabins secret, he will dispatch a vassal to escort you personally to
your cabin and provide you with whatever supplies you need for your
stay.
The
Farmhouse
Guests
interested in working and learning on the farm will be given a room at
the spacious farmhouse and expected to clean up after themselves and
earn their keep. No servants or maids here, my friends. It
is wise to mind your manners and pitch in if you want to stay on Mama
Cassius’ good side. Breakfast is served at dawn and expect to be
in the field or in the barn shortly after. Mama Cassius will
happily pack a lunch for your day in the field, or set out a spread for
a mid-day meal if working close to home. Dinner is at sundown
except on weekends where a barn dance or other celebration is held
bringing together the locals and others from adjacent
plantations. As dictated in your Adventure Package your
time off is scheduled by Farmer Cassius, though you may be able to take
advantage of their daily rides to market to sell their goods and
purchase supplies.
Other lodging options are available based on your Adventure
Package. See your representative for details.
